In his 11 years with Hutchinson Smith (formerly Hutchinson Group), David Hutchinson has successfully placed senior-level candidates in a variety of not-for-profit organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of Mission Aviation Fellowship of Canada and is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Toronto and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He also serves on the Corps and Community councils of The Salvation Army 614 in Regent Park in Toronto. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, David has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Since coming to the executive search industry in 1997, Phil Smith has developed a reputation for expertly aligning top-quality leaders with organizations. His strengths in sourcing, negotiation, contract development and offer presentation mean that clients and candidates alike benefit from his proven professionalism.
Phil has been engaged in search with firms such as Keith Bagg Group, TMP Worldwide and I4C Consulting. Throughout his career, he has applied his communication and tactical coaching skills to efforts that strengthen professionals in the field.
Phil serves as the Treasurer of the Toronto Kiwanis Club, and as a director of the Toronto Kiwanis Foundation. He has also served as the Vice President of the board for on the Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs, and has done fundraising for the Hospice Association of Ontario. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology.
Larry Nelson | Senior Associate
Larry is a graduate of Simon Fraser University and became a CA in 1974. He worked in both industry and public practice for many years before eventually transitioning into the not-for-profit sector. Active in local politics, he was elected to the Coquitlam School Board in the 1980s and served as a trustee for three terms. A life-long interest in affordable housing led to his work with several non-profit organizations: the BC Non-Profit Housing Association, Monarch Place Transition House for women and children fleeing domestic abuse, and the New Hope Community Services Society which provides refugee housing.
Larry worked with the Baptist Housing Ministries Society for 13 years and retired as its CEO in 2007. During his time with the organization Larry assisted in the creation of retirement housing for over 1,800 seniors in communities throughout B.C. Today he continues to serve as past chair of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities and as chair of the Fellowship Baptist Stewardship Ministries.
Larry has come into executive search with a strong desire to see his background and experiences utilized by not-for-profit organizations as they grow their leadership teams. With a wealth of practical, professional and board level experience to offer, Larry is a tremendous asset to our overall organization, and especially our Western Canadian operations.

Upon her return to Canada, after living in the WashingtonD.C. area for five years, Sandra has chosen to focus her abilities on strengthening the not-for-profit core. She is passionate about seeing organizations grow in strength and value through their leadership teams. Sandra brings with her a Bachelor in Commerce degree, and over 10 years progressive experience in Human Resources and Recruitment. Sandra is fluently bilingual in English and Korean, and has a proven track record of exceptional client service and delivery.
