Hutchinson Smith Inc. (HSI) is committed to protecting the privacy of the individual personal information that we collect, use, and disclose.

HSI is an executive search firm and collects such personal information as is necessary to provide service to our clients. By choosing to provide us with personal information, an individual has indicated his/her willingness to disclose this information to HSI, and to be considered, when appropriate, for recruitment opportunities offered by our clients. As part of our business, when we feel an individual would be an appropriate candidate for a position with one of our client organizations, we request the individual’s permission to disclose his/her personal information to that client.

In the course of providing service to our clients, we also collect personal information from third parties, such as individuals’ previous employers, in order to verify candidates’ credentials. We also perform reference and, possibly, background checks on behalf of our clients and collect and disclose to clients such information as is necessary for these purposes.

Maintaining the confidentiality of personal information is a key principle upon which our business is based. Except as described in this policy or as permitted or required by law, we do not disclose an individual’s personal information without first obtaining his/her consent to do so.

We will use our best efforts to ensure that individual personal information in our possession is accurate, complete, current, and reliable for its intended use. We will also use our best efforts to protect that information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, and alteration.

Although multiple individuals at HSI are responsible for the day-to-day collection and processing of personal information, HSI has a designated Privacy Officer who is responsible for ensuring compliance with the principles set out in this Privacy Policy.
